Burt G. Bagley, (not pictured above and unable to attend due to the birth of his third child) has been associated with the cable industry for over 12 years. During this time he has worked for Turner Network Sales, The Weather Channel and ABC Family. He is currently Vice President at Jewelry Television in Knoxville, TN. He has served as an Associate Director for the South Carolina Cable Television Association and the Mississippi Cable Board for over 8 years. His volunteer activities include CTAM of Georgia, WICT Functions and he has lobbied fro various state cable Boards. He has always maintained the highest standards representing the cable television industry and has worked hard to develop great relationships with GMs, Programmers and State Associations.
The Tower Club is proud to induct Burt G. Bagley into its CLASS of 2008.
Derrick Hanson has been devoted to the CATV industry for over 20 years and served on the board of the Society of Cable Telecommunication Engineers for 7 years. He heads up the equipment evaluation and development department at Cox Communication and is responsible for testing all the new equipment that Cox deploys in the system. He has helped Cox move into their position as one of the technology leaders in the cable industry. The primary purpose of the SCTE is education of the technical community and Derrick has been a tireless fighter to see that the technicians in the southeast are afforded a way to be exposed to the current state-of-the-art ideas and equipment.
Derrick’s voluntary activities include serving on the board of the SCTE Chattahoochee Chapter since 2001. His offices on the Board include Secretary, Treasurer and current President since 2007. Before going to Cox in 1996, Derrick worked for Rifkin and Associates, Spectrum Services, Tronitec, and QRF Services.
